How it began…
I decided to create my Little Lao Kitchen food blog because of my passion and love for Lao food. I really wanted the world see how amazing, beautiful Lao food is & taste the flavors of Laos. I’ve learned to embrace my Lao culture and traditions, which revolves around food & cooking. I’ve always helped my mom in the kitchen growing up, but after I moved away from home, which was the Bay Area to NYC after college, I really missed my mom’s cooking and Lao food in general. Surprisingly there weren’t any Lao restaurants in NYC at the time so I had to learn how to make my favorite Laotian dishes by calling my mom every time. This was all before YouTube! Now we are seeing a lot more Lao restaurants popping up in many places all over the US, which is so wonderful! I’m so proud of being Lao and want to share Laotian food with everyone. I’m very grateful I can showcase Lao food since Lao food is under-represented and this is a great way to show everyone how incredible Lao food is!
